November 13th was World Kindness Day, a day that asked us to reflect on how we could all be more caring towards our fellow humans and encouraged us to practice random acts of kindness.
At ProFlowers, we’re pleased to be in the business of delivering kindness through our thoughtful flowers and gifts. And now, thanks to our exciting new partnership with non-profit organization Random Acts of Flowers©, we’ve discovered a fresh way to continue supplying flowers—and kindness—to thousands of people who could really use both.
With its inspiring team of volunteers, Random Acts of Flowers© is dedicated to gathering and delivering unsold flowers to healthcare facilities across the country, giving flowers new purpose and their recipients new hope.
Each bouquet is delivered with the goal of bringing a ray of sunshine to patients, providing them with a dose of emotional well-being, which in turn helps aid their physical recovery as well. Medical research shows that patients with flowers in their rooms often experience diminished pain and fatigue and shorter hospital stays.
ProFlowers and Random Acts of Flowers© celebrated the official launch of our partnership at Brookdale Lake View senior facility in Chicago yesterday, where volunteers passed out thousands of flowers—and an equal amount of smiles—to delighted residents.
And for every Random Acts of Flowers© bouquet sold between Nov. 12, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2015, ProFlowers is donating $1 to Random Acts of Flowers© for a total donation of up to $5,000. In addition, Proflowers and our parent company will be making a $30,000 donation to this life-changing organization.
In the spirit of World Kindness Day and our new partnership, surprise a loved one with a little kindness of their own while also supporting a deeply worthy cause. We’re excited and inspired to see where this new venture will take all of us!
