South Royalton, Vermont

Vermont Flower Show The Vermont Flower Show is definitely one that has goers blooming with smiles. Put on by the Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association, this is an event that has been a part of people’s yearly activity list for over 10 years and has come to be much more than just an Essex Junction flower show. Some of the many popular attractions now include cooking demonstrations from local chefs and free workshops on painting actual flowers, designing your own garden, and learning how to use flowers to “tablescape” for dinner parties and special occasions. Those who have children will be pleased to know that there are attractions to keep them entertained as well. Magic shows and marionette shows keep children and families happy and laughing while they break from walking around the event. There will also be arts and crafts available for families to make throughout the day. If you’re interested in participating in a flower show competition, this event is the place to enter. Sponsored by the Federated Garden Clubs of Vermont, this competition has 2 divisions: design and horticulture. Only garden club member can enter the design division in this National Garden Club Standard Flower Show, but the horticulture division is open to the public. Each division will have a determined blue ribbon (indicating first place) recipient, as well as other awards. Don’t go to this event without also checking out other great attractions like the annual auction, seminars, exhibitors and the central garden display.
