Philadelphia International Flower Show

Exotic gardens of intricate design and elaborate detail are a perfect way to describe the Philadelphia International Flower Show. Full scale gardens and floral displays are created by 60 professional horticultural specialists, landscape designers, and florists in Philadelphia. Goers can walk the show and appreciate the scenery while purchasing products from the marketplace, tasting free wine, and watching educational gardening presentations. Early morning personal tours are also offered for an additional fee to small groups who want VIP perks, like an inside scoop on how the show was created.

Other unique gardening events make up the rest of the show. Garden tea at the show is a favorite amongst visitors where they are served tea alongside light refreshments. Cooking demonstrations, wine and spirits tastings, live entertainment, a preview party, and family and children’s activities round out the rest of this bustling show.

All proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). Currently, PHS using money from every ticket sold to help towards its goals of planting one million trees in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. They also use the proceeds to help upkeep of parks, public gardens and landscaping, and other programs and services.

Flora and Fauna

Every year, the Hazelton Area Garden Club proudly presents to fellow Pennsylvanians their annual flower show, entitled “Flora and Fauna”. 15 state judges attend this show to judge over 70 charming designs from local gardeners entering the competition. Spectators are encouraged to come watch the show and enjoy the beautiful flowers of Hazle Township. There is also stunning horticulture and garden goodies available for admiring and for purchasing. This standard flower show is always held at the Faith United Church of Christ in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania. Entrance to the two-day event is free, but a $5 donation is suggested.

Music My Way

Flower shows are fun, but flower shows with a theme are even more fun! Music My Way is an annual standard flower show that presents floral design pieces that have been arranged to interpret the theme of the show. 140 classes are available for contestants to enter in, and a junior division is available as well. Those who simply attend this flower show can walk around and view the designs, as well as attend an educational exhibit or purchase something from the plant sale table. Both novice and experienced florists in Bensalem can enter the show. Admission for attendees is free.

The Norristown Flower Show

Every year, the Norristown Garden Club welcomes fall with a themed flower show at the Plymouth Meeting Mall. Various awards are given out for several different category classes that include the following: floral arrangements, dried floral arrangements, table arrangements and decorations, dahlias, marigolds, perennials, annuals, and home-grown vegetables and fruits. Awards given to contestants are first, second, and third place ribbons, in addition to Honorable Mention, the Youth Award and the Grower’s Choice Award amongst many others. This free show also offers plant and gardening information and tips for flowers in Plymouth Meeting. The show is open to the public, so feel free to come check out this amazing array of horticulture designs.

Indian Summer

The Gettysburg Garden Club and the Biglerville Garden Club are continuing to join forces to organize the popular standard Gettysburg flower show, Indian Summer. Taking place at the Gettysburg Recreation Park, this show judges entries in 39 classes of gardening and propagation and 52 displays of floral design. This show is free for the public and open to anyone who wants to view the entries, as well as attend an educational exhibit.
