The Florence Griswold Museum is home to GardenFest, the visual display of art and flower arrangements that interpret it. 2011 was the first year to introduce a new part of this show, entitled Blooms with a View. Florists in Old Lyme were challenged to use compositions of design in art that inspires them, such as colors and shapes, to make unique arrangements. The floral artwork was then displayed next to the original artwork so museum goers could draw in comparisons. Other GardenFest activities includes a plant sale, a lecture on art and nature, a storytelling program, and arts and crafts opportunities.
