Take a step outside and draw in a breath of fresh spring air at one of the leading flower shows in the country. For more than 45 years, the Metro Detroit Flower Growers Association has put on this show full of live music, an Ask the Experts center, a craft fair and so much more. This show has become so successful over the years, that the average annual attendance rate reaches more than 150,000 people. If that seems like a lot of attendees to have to share this show with, no need to worry. With an expansive amount of space to accommodate everyone, there is over 15 acres of product showcase alone. This area provides the best trees, tropical plants, greenery and flowers in Detroit available for purchase, as well as hanging baskets, vases, and other accessories.
If you are planning on bringing children, there is plenty for them to do as well! Let your kids get their faces painted, take a train ride, explore the butterfly habitat, and play with farm animals. Clowns will also be present for entertainment, and crafts are also set up for children to get their hands dirty with.
It is recommended that you bring a wagon if you’re planning on purchasing a lot of garden items at this show. For those who do bring a wagon, there will be a Wacky Wagon contest held at Flower Day. Decorate your rolling companion and enter this free contest to win gardening prizes for the Most Entertaining Wagon, Most Creative Wagon, and the one that best embodies the Spirit of Flower Day.
