Holiday Activities for Kids: Easter

When you think of Easter, you are likely to think of Easter eggs and those cute Easter Bunnies. Yes, these Easter traditions certainly help to make Easter Sunday all the more fun but do you know why Easter is celebrated? Jesus Christ was crucified on Good Friday, and He gave up the Spirit and died… but three days later on Easter Sunday, Christ resurrected from the dead, and that’s the reason why Easter is celebrated. The word “Easter” comes from the word “East” and the sun rises from the East. In this way, you can also remember Christ rising from the dead on Easter Sunday. Unlike some other holidays or celebrations, there’s no fixed date for Easter. In 2011, Easter Sunday fell on 24th April and in 2013, it’s going to fall on 31st March. Easter is a lot of great fun and it’s a great way for kids to get involved in the celebration, and learn more about the event. Here are some super resources on Easter-related activities, games, educational websites, and more.
