Single Red RoseYou're sitting at your desk when, for one reason or another, someone mentions an anniversary, or forgetting a birthday. Whatever it may be, suddenly you realize that your own anniversary is today, and you haven't done a thing to prepare for it! If you're lucky, you might be able to play it off like you were just pretending to have forgotten, but if you don't bring your lady an amazing gift, chances are you're going to find yourself in the dog house so fast your head will spin.

Making an effort to win back her favor is the quickest way to smooth things over. Even if you've already been busted for forgetting the anniversary, you should still make it a point to go out and get her a gift. In a last-minute do-or-die situation, your best bet might be a stunning bouquet of flowers that'll have her forgetting she was ever mad at you. But what anniversary flowers should they be? Well, that depends on the person.

If your wife is more traditional, you can't go wrong with a dozen roses. It's a little trite, sure, but some women appreciate grand, classic romantic gestures. The look on her face when you present the flowers to her will be enough for you to know that you did the right thing, and it's hard to stay mad at the man who just brought you roses!

Perhaps she's more contemporary and hip - a modern woman deserves something with a bit more flair than roses! Consider going with something like orchids, which are a bit more gracefully understated. Best of all, they come in any number of colors, so you can cater your bouquet to suit the woman in your life. She'll be quick to forgive you after finding these flowers in your arms!

Of course, you may want to skip the flowers altogether, and that's totally fine! Why not go for something you can share together, like an overflowing box of Mrs. Fields Cookies, or a bunch of jumbo chocolate covered strawberries? Curl up with your favorite movie and a bunch of these delightful treats, and you'll be snuggling on the couch before you know it.

When the time comes to swallow your pride and admit you forgot, don't do so empty-handed - that will just make you look worse. It's far better to make amends with a gift that shows that you care.
