Virginia Home & Garden Show

What better way to earn your green thumb than by attending a seminar where you can get tips on a better home garden? And, after the seminar, you can participate in a Q&A session with the gardening expert who can answer any personal gardening questions you may have. Green Thumb Theatre seminars given by garden professionals and celebrities are only one of the many things attracting people to this Virginia show.

As with most other garden shows, people who attend will have the opportunity to learn about the latest products and services for landscaping their plants and flowers in Doswell. Goers will also be able to talk with experts on these products and services in case they have any questions or concerns, and they will also have the option of purchasing many of them at the show. In addition to the garden experts, there will be decorating experts in attendance to give home décor advice to those there for the home part of the show.

A floor plan of the event is available on the website listed below if you would like to see how it will be set up.

Annual Maymont Flower & Garden Show

Thousands come every year to see the show that features unique garden designs and beautiful flowers for Richmond. This show includes miraculous garden displays, an exciting garden marketplace, and educational seminars with professional television and radio personalities, as well as local business owners as guest speakers. One of the unique tutorials that this flower show offers is the Bouquet for the Day seminar. Here, locals can learn great tips for planting in containers, as well as creating beautiful flower arrangements, garden designs and more.

The Maymont Foundation proudly puts on the flower show every year so they can earn money to help care for their flowers and gardens that are open to the public, and to continue to be able to offer educational programs to the community throughout the year. Not only does the Maymont Foundation hold these educational programs for the community, but they also maintain a children’s farm, a nature center, an arboretum, and formal gardens amongst other things.

Virginia Flower & Garden Show

20,000 people attend every year to see this special and one-of-a-kind display of Virginia Beach flowers and gardens. So what makes this flower show so unique? Every year, The Virginia Horticulture Foundation puts on this show, attracting people with professional garden speakers, art work produced by artists both local and regional, vendors set-up to talk to about the newest services and merchandise, and a European style flower market. This market offers consumers fresh flowers, along with plants, outdoor furniture, lawn tools and lawn ornaments like fountains and birdhouses. Some vendors also sell jewelry and hand-made soaps at booths.

One of the most popular activities in this flower show is the wheelbarrow competition, where anyone and everyone can participate in this fun challenge. There is also the floral challenge that has become a reoccurring activity due to popular demand. The Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs sponsors this challenge where contenders have to make a creative floral arrangement with only materials provided to them, all while on a time limit and bystanders observing them as they work.

If you are interested in working at the show, they are continually looking for volunteers to help as greeters, painters, truck loaders, floral assistants and more. Anyone who volunteers at this show receives a free shirt, is welcome to attend garden seminars for free and gets a courtesy admission ticket. This flower show also offers activities and entertainment for children that include magicians, puppet s and clowns.
