Boston Flower & Garden Show

Every year a theme takes over the Boston Flower and Garden Show to bring interest and excitement to attendees. These show themes are interpreted by exhibitors as they present their beautiful gardens and floral arrangements for Boston residents to marvel at. The theme is not always given away until right before the show is to begin, but here are some past themes that have been influenced by cultural events, show attendees, and pop culture: 1947 “Gardens for Better Living”; 1961 “Gardens of the Americas”; 1976 “Gardens of the Future”; 1986 “Gardens of Pure Fantasy, to Evoke the Child-Like Quality in All of Us”; 1997 “Secrets of the Garden”; 2008 “Rhapsody in Green”; and 2010 “Blooms!”. So if you’re in Boston, be sure to visit this amazingly successful show that was started in 1829 by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. And if you can, attend the Preview Party for an intimate look at these natural beauties!

On this day, tourists are taken around select gardens to admire the beauty and work of the club members. In addition to touring the gardens, goers will receive complimentary tea and refreshments. They will also have the chance to meet with BHGC members to discuss the gardens and how they’re cultivated, purchase books, postcards and more.
