National Cherry Blossom Festival

100 years ago, Tokyo, Japan honored Washington D.C. with 3,000 cherry blossom trees. The trees are still standing and the festival continues to flourish year after year. Throughout the 5 week elaborate event, goers will get a variety of entertainment from an opening ceremony to parades, street festivals, and kite festivals. The show also provides live entertainment to visitors and a Family Days festival. During this time, families can participate in hands on activities, art demos, learn about Japanese art and watch performances. This pink celebration also works with vendors to raise money for various charities that benefit the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. Check out the festival website for information on how you can volunteer and be involved in the shows.
