What's more important to a little kid than his or her birthday party? Absolutely nothing! They're bigger than the Oscars, Easter and Christmas all rolled into one! We used to dangle invitations to birthday parties over our friends' heads as though nothing could possibly be more important. Though those days may have come and gone for us, for our children, they're just beginning. Needless to say, you want your little one's birthday to live up to the hype. But what's the best way to do so? Well, if you want to go down in Kid History, you can start by providing the best darn treats they'll ever have the pleasure of eating. Here are some ideas to make your kid's birthday party unforgettable.
Even before the main course, you can provide plenty of gourmet treats for eager youngsters to get their hands on. Chocolate covered strawberries are a great way to trick little kids into eating fruit, and they're so irresistible that you'll have a tough time not sneaking two or three for yourself!
Instead of one gigantic cake, you might want to consider offering a variety of smaller ones. There are a number of miniature cakes that will have each and every kid clamoring for more. Though it's a bit more involved than a single cake, doing so will ensure that all of your little visitors will have the chance to sink their teeth into something they love.
Or, you may want to skip the cake altogether and offer, for instance, a gigantic box of Mrs. Fields cookies! No kid is going to turn down a few miniature cookies, especially not when they have the option of choosing from chocolate chip or brownie! Incidentally, brownie pops are also always going to go over well. After all, who can say no to the perfect, if unlikely, combination of brownies and lollipops?
Feel free to include something for the adults, as well. Keep some cashews, pistachios and other mixed nuts on the side for anyone who would rather not indulge their sweet tooth on this particular occasion. There's no reason not to! Keeping the adults happy is as important as little ones, after all.
Be creative! With a bit of ingenuity, you'll soon develop a reputation for throwing the best birthday parties on the block. Do you have any memorable parties of your own from when you were a kid?
